Missions Program

Annual Missions Report
Local Mission Partners Donations Presentation for 2016

The missions committee of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church recently held their annual Presentation of Donations Program. At this event, the church’s yearly donations to their twenty Local Mission Partners (LMPs) are presented and the agencies give brief updates on their work over the past year.

The program also provides an opportunity for these agencies to connect with one another and to enhance their knowledge of the many different services in our community. The LMPs are mostly non-profits but also include two local government agencies that have a fund for community contributions. These agencies help provide services for the very young to the elderly—from child care to senior housing and many services in between. Through the financial support of these agencies, it helps the church extend its ministry into our community to make it a better place to live and/or work for all our citizens.
Donations were presented to the following agencies: CASA of Talbot County, Channel Marker, Character Counts Mid-Shore, Chesapeake Center, Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers, The Dixon House, E. E. Neighborhood Assoc., For All Seasons, Habitat for Humanity Choptank, Mental Health Assoc. in Talbot County, Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence, Neighborhood Service Center, St. Mark’s Ministry to Aged, Talbot Community Connections, Talbot Hospice Foundation, Talbot County Dept. of Social Services, Talbot County Health Dept., Talbot Interfaith Shelter, Talbot Mentors, and Talbot Partnership.
